Welcome to Our Direct Connect Forum
Thank you for your interest in our book summary Connect Forum. We offer a direct 12-minute video summary and an 8-10 question guide to help you apply the topics in the book. Go from reading educational books in 6+ weeks, to just 1-hour each week!
The live forum is held every Wednesday from 4-5 pm at the Deliberate Direction office in Boise, ID, and costs $15 to attend. The benefit to attending in person is that there is a 45-minute group round-table discussion, which allows you to glean from other like-minded individuals and bounce ideas to and from. Come prepared to discuss the topics covered in the books but be aware that there is no requirement to have read the book prior to the forum.
If you are a busy business leader or someone who wants to make an impact in your organization, this forum is the right fit.
For interest in further in-person forums and to purchase a ticket, check out our Eventbrite page.

Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) is the connection between neurological processes,
language, and behavioral patterns learned through experiences. These components can be
changed to achieve specific goals.
Tony Robbins, when he was in his early 20’s mastered NLP and became famous. His book,
Unlimited Power, teaches us some of the NLP principles. Watch the summary video below.
If you need more information to understand the NLP techniques discussed in Unlimited Power, I
found this video helpful.
Download the notes page below to get started.
1) Ask a friend about a time they experienced a win when they didn’t think it was possible
and take notes. Afterward, gift them with their personal recipe to keep them motivated
and excited.
2) OR, ask someone you admire the same question. Afterward, when you are in a situation
you think they’d thrive in, apply their recipe to your situation.
What’s your Recipe?
For our live event on 6/22/2022, it was awesome to watch the attendants talk about their
moments of pure motivation. Tanya Koyle, the owner of Takoy Designs, gave an example of a
competition she recently competed in. She told her partner about the time she threw a weighted
ball into a wall at the target. Tanya missed several times and fatigued herself before finally
hitting the target several attempts later. Before she told her story, she told me she knew that the
coach had motivated her but wasn’t sure how to replicate that when alone. I made her still tell
the story to her partner and relive that moment (to let her body remember the feeling of
motivation).
Tanya’s recipe is Aet, or auditory and external with a key tone, her name. When Tanya heard
from her coach at the competition, “Tanya, you can do anything you put your mind to”, she
effortlessly threw the ball and hit the target. The prior fatigue left her body, renewed by the rush
of necessary hormones. You could tell after she told the story, she was reliving the moment. The
question though, is how does she replicate that stimulus? Does she call the coach every time
she can’t seem to finish a project at work? Not at all. I advised Tanya to let her office mate know
that she needed a pep talk, using her name and a lot of energy, to get her back in the game and
refocused anytime she wasn’t feeling as productive. As well, she could record, using her phone,
her coach in those moments when it matters, so she could replay when necessary.
Even though Tanya gave a personal example, it was completely relevant and useful to know for
her professional life as well. NLP is another way for us to understand how our minds and bodies
process information and a way for us to be attuned to others around us. Consider it a tool for
your belt, like the DISC profile, Myers Briggs, the Enneagram, or similar.
